State Outcomes in Math and Science Education Reveal Big Disparities

I found this interesting article that claims the US actually has more scientists than jobs available for them. It claims that the reason US test scores look mediocre by world standards is because low income black and hispanic students score so poorly. But scientists come from the pool of top scorers, and the US educational system produces those at a very high level by international standards.

I’ve been saying this for a while; US education is really not that bad. There’s a huge discrepancy between inner-city schools and suburban schools with mostly middle-class students.
