Same ideology put legislatino forward to to investigate every “miscarriage” to make sure it wasn’t an really an abortion. (South Carolina?)

See, this time the husband was involved. If there wasn’t a husband, or father present, it would have been a different outcome.

I’m not sure I understand.

I’ve been following this story closely. This group in Oregon City has been there for a while, but they were ignored by the state until someone starting counting graves of children in their cemetery.

Now they are simply prosecuting every case where a child dies or would suffer gross harm if medical help is not summoned just the same as they would if no religious ideology was involved.

Failing to seek emergency medical help for a child if you are the primary caretaker is a crime.

The Hickman baby was a wanted baby by this couple, but when she went into labor early they did not seek medical help. The presence or absence of the baby’s father is relevant only that he is considered the co-caretaker with the mother, and therefore equally guilty of not seeking emergency medical care for his minor child.
