re: #3 Buck

The problem is that while you, and many others, call bulls—- on this, there is a large population of people in certain parts of the world who revere the Nobel laureate arch-terrorist, and who are ready to believe that Israel and, more particularly, Israeli Jews, killed him.

I fear it is more than coincidence that al-Jazeera suddenly began to”investigate” the cause of Arafat’s death at about the same time that the U.S. and some of its allies derailed the Palestinian Authority’s attempt to have the UN hand them a state as a reward for not negotiating with Israel. Between that, the revolutions sweeping the Middle East and the Maghreb, the ongoing civil war in Syria and Iran’s drive to build nuclear weapons , the Palestinian “cause” has been shunted to the side of world policy concerns.

History has shown that it would be all too easy to ignite a new wave of violence directed at Israelis, and place the Palestinian “cause” back at the forefront (to say nothing of getting their Arab brethren to make good on their financial pledges), by orchestrating an “investigation” which “concludes” that Arafat was poisoned and that Israel did it.

It took far less for Arafat to trigger the so-called “second intifada”.
