I’m not going to read to much into this until more data comes out. Mainly because of the many cases of someone hitting the gas when they meant to hit the brakes. Also, take into account, he also hit the brakes right before entering the curve. My take right now is that he throttled up when he meant to throttle down (hence doing 70 mph in 80 mph section), realized his mistake and hit the brakes to slow down, but was to late.

Thanks for telling me that. I guess it’s possible that he did not realize right away? Seems odd that it would take so long.
