A person on Tumblr has started a collection of Tweets from Donald Trump supporters called “Are You Sorry Yet.” It shows numerous supporters each with a pair of tweets, a before and after comparison.

Each pair is followed by a comment from the owner of the Tumblr page.

While it is not my place to discourage people from voting, I suspect that these disillusioned voters, even if they would not vote for a Democratic candidate, might not vote for a Republican one in the future either.

A politician throwing voters under the bus can be enough to turn those voters against their party for the rest of their lives.

Particularly, as you said, because a lot of them came out only for Trump. They voted GOP downticket because those guys, despite being in power for years, still sell themselves as plucky insurrectionists fighting the Evil Empire.
