Ayup, there was traffic. Under normal traffic, that should have taken two and a half hours.
C’est la vie.
All things considered, it was not bad. No accidents. We saw a few cars and one semi stuck on the shoulder, and the highway patrols were being very prompt to address those issues. The Wheatland police had officers directing traffic to prevent snarls (no traffic lights, y’know), too.
We met a lady my age who had never seen an eclipse before, and a young fellow who turned out to be a Purdue grad like my son. His Indiana Purdue license plate was the tip-off. ;-)
