When Comey announced he was dropping his lawsuit to testify openly before Congress rather than in closed session, my first thought was naturally “What is the Freepers’ take on this?” It’s about what you’d expect, a few “Comey doesn’t know anything, why talk to him?” But the majority were going on about Trump triumphant and Comey has been slapped down.
At least when I looked, no one had noticed that Comey has supposedly gotten what he wanted. While the testimony will be in closed session, he gets a transcript within 24 hours which he can make public if he wishes. Which is pretty much what he asked for, except that the testimony won’t be in open session, but the transcript can be released.
