Why are the base cheering this on? They have as much to lose if the economy tanks. I’m sure quite a few of them have retirement accounts which depend on a stable stock market.

The base already believes that the drop in the market is all due to the blue wave in November. Remember for them it’s the Schumer Shutdown, not the Trump Shutdown. My brother even explained to me that the 2008 stock market crash was due to Democrats and helping the undeserving poor get mortgages, rather then the malfeasance of banks.
