At least the Nevada GOP might take this to heart and avoid bat-guano candidates in the future, as will their Delaware counterparts. The sad part is that tea-partiers in the rest of the country will take Republican gains as evidence that their formula is working. They will pull out all the stops on the crazy train, with disastrous results for the two party systems.

It’s worth noting that an amazing number of prominent Nevada Republicans actually endorsed Reid in this election. What would have happened with a Republican candidate these people could have supported?
