Because newsflash, a lot of those 47% of people are voting for you, Romney.

Yup, it’s not just that his statement was offensive, it also was also incredibly stupid. There’s a heck of a lot of white working class, military, elderly, etc, that are in the GOP base, that pay no net income taxes.

Unfortunately, many won’t realize Romney is insulting/demeaning them as moochers, as this RW dog-whistle, where they claim half country doesn’t contribute and leeches off the more productive folks, is incredibly well developed already. When these folks in the GOP base (who fit Romney’s description) hear these statements, they picture ‘the other’ where they should be seeing themselves.
