Avy at Squaw today…a few people buried but no fatalities. It’s sketchy out there. So much weight on a layer of surface hoar (it rained a few weeks ago creating a hard layer, which gets little ice crystals that are not very stable…add three feet of snow on top and you get some big ass slides).

I just finished reading this article on an avalanche with fatalities in Washington. Sobering.
