It was a decent year. It also marks before the current drought started.

2013 was the driest year on record in the state, and 2014 hasn’t been much better (I don’t know if we’re exactly ahead or behind).

My understanding is that the state has about 2 years of water left at current consumption, and that irreplaceable aquifer assets are being depleted (along with associated ground subsidence).

This may be the end for much of California agriculture.
