A rational person might. This guy is obviously not being rational. I wasn’t joking about being 12 years old. He may have the body of a 27 year old, but not the mind.

You have heard of mental disabilities. An undeveloped brain is one of them. Mental capacity can be judged. I bet David would meet some of the tests.
