Podhoretz seems to ignore or not know that most gun purchases include free memberships in the NRA, which inflates their membership numbers significantly.

And those companies weighed the value of their endorsement of the NRA, if a ton of people actually used their discounts then the severance of ties wouldn’t be coming as quickly as it is.

Could it be that the NRA inflated their active and participating membership numbers to curry favor and better deals? NO WAY!!
