I figured out how we can help Mexico. First claim there are WMDs in Mexico. Then, invade Mexico and kill 100,000 of their people (ok, it’s not killing it was all just an accident and unavoidable) after which we help them establish a democracy and a free-market economy.

The way you get away with killing hundreds of thousands of people is by claiming you don’t keep count of civilian casualties for as long as possible…and you never report more than 30 deaths at a time. That’s the magic number according to something I read with Rumsfeld a few years back…anything over that, and people start wondering if too much force was used. Someone had looked at the reported US assaults in Iraq and Afghanistan and noticed that 12 or 15 assaults in about a two year period all had 30 casualties.
