Ron Paul on CNN just now: “I don’t know if there are 100 people in the country who have HEARD of the Ku Klux Klan.”

Yes, the man who built his extremely modest career on appealing to virulent racists really said that.

This would be a more believable quote: “I don’t know if there are 100 people in the country who have NOT heard of the Ku Klux Klan.”

It’s not like they aren’t depicted in movies on a semi-regular basis or anything.
