The more things change the more they stay the same - some smart person.
Behind a pay wall:
Inside the secretive nerve center of the Mueller investigationI get the impression this thing wonât be over fast, itâs just starting to pick up speed. A couple comments of people interviewed said essentially âI got the feeling they (prosecution) didnât know much about X or Y.â The prosecution will always play aloof and fishing unless they want you to know they got you as a way to apply pressure. Itâs quite possible prosecutors donât know much about an aspect of their purview but my feeling is they know a lot more than theyâre letting on.
Oh, and Mueller has a huge staff broken into teams that are specializing in specific areas of investigation.
Knocking off Mueller wonât stop this. Iâm sure they have contingency plans if Mueller is fired.
As it stands right now, thereâs enough evidence to convincingly charge several members of the administration with obstruction of justice. But I donât think Muellerâs planning to stop there, I think he plans to make the case against the Trumps so air-tight that theyâve no choice but to accept plea deals. Which is why, while the odds of his being fired by Donny have gone up, the consequences for doing so have increased exponentially. Not to mention the whole matter would be brought before a judge faster than you can say âSaturday Night Massacre,â which would only prolong the anguish as Donny tweeted up a storm that would only further incriminate him.
