and i think it was before they lifted the code ban on showing a “dead” body in the morgue, right? Then there are those shows that just haven’t held up well: I watched the first 15 minutes of the first Kojak episode and thought it looked like they’d had 25 bucks for special effects. Somebody running down a completely empty New York city street. I’m sure there are streets in New York that don’t have tons of foot traffic, but I doubt it’s downtown, middle of the damned day. No cars driving by. Just looked cheap. Watched part of a Cannon episode and thought that looked cheap as hell as well. Now Mannix just looked like a blast. Managed to watch an episode with Buffalo Springfield and then another with Neil Diamond playing acoustic guitar in the bar.
