I was carded in my 40s … to see if I deserved the AARP discount. I was not happy, but the clerk was only trying to help so I forgave the little shit.

My wife was a strawberry blonde, but her hair went grey when she was about thirty (long before I met her).

Frequently restaurants and hotels outside our area will apply a “senior discount” to our bill because of her grey hair.

Being stupid and honest, we’ll tell clerks that we don’t qualify as my wife is not “a senior.” Ofttimes they will leave the discount because that’s easier than trying to reverse a charge.

On the flipside, folk around here think I’m an overaged teenager because I do things like ride grocery carts across parking lots and such.
