re: #380 Hecuba’s daughter

The Pentagon officially announced that Mattis was being replaced as the head of Centcom but apparently no one at the White House or the Pentagon had informed Mattis of this move prior to the announcement. It seems to me that if someone is being demoted, he shouldn’t have to learn of it from a public statement.

Is being in charge of Central Command under the direct charges of the President Obama or would that have been the role of Leon Penetta who was Secretary of Defense?

While it appears that was handled badly, was it really Obama’s doing or Panetta’s?

Mattis is directly under Trump in this case because he is Secretary of Defense.

From some brief searching, as I am sorta new to this ‘news’, it appears many of the articles are right leaning military types that never liked Obama and they used it to bash Obama.

Also, keep in mind, Obama was never enamored with Mattis from the get-go. Mattis wanted to attack Iran and I am thinking Obama doing the no nukes deal with Iran created a lot of rancor.

From other articles, it appear Mattis was being a pain in the ass to all the civilian types (Panetta) in the Pentagon.

And after reading some of this, I now know why Trump picked Mattis as Secretary of Defense. It appears to me it was because of the Obama/Mattis tiff.

Let’s say it was another way to piss on Obama’s bed.
