As has already been mentioned the witness was 8 rows away, not 18.
The Mom said the man told her to shut that n*****r baby up. She said to him…“What did you say?”

At that point she claims he drunkenly fell into her face and whispered something even worse in her ear. That is when he proceeded to slap the baby.

There was plenty of time for the witness to hear racial the slur, make it back to the seat to see him slap that baby.

Also, not his first offense for drunken misbehavior.

The fact that he was fired so quickly makes me think that they were not surprised by his behavior and may have been looking for a good reason to get rid of him.
