Hmm… I checked a family name, ‘Keller’, on that website. And it seems to have blended in ‘Kelly’. Which is actually quite interesting. So I looked a little further.

Mine is German based. From the German meaning ‘cellar’. Often meaning winemaker. And is particularly concentrated in the German speaking parts of Switzerland.

But, apparently, there is also an Anglicized Gaelic from “Ó Céilechair”, descendant of Céilechair, from County Clare. The Anglicized surname in Ireland has many different spellings including: O’Kelleher, Kelaher, Kelliher, Kellar, Keller, McKeller, MacKeller, and O’Keller.
