Well, I have to take slight issue with how you present this. That is: I don’t care if someone is on or has been on any form of government assistance. For starters, everyone gets government assistance, whether they realize/acknowledge it or not, in the form of everything the government does for us. Second, if you need more because things just haven’t worked out well for you? Uh, OK? I see no problem with that. I’m not going to judge people for things mostly or totally out of their control.

Uh. That’s not my point. I said that because a) I’ve been in a position where I should have applied for assitance and b) I’ve had right-wingers thrown accusations of “collecting welfare checks. But, yeah, uh, I probably should be on assistance right now but I’m not.
