That’s a terribly distorted view of the idea I get to defend myself against a killer. How much of a disadvantage would you enshrine in law for an innocent under lethal assault ?

How many times more likely are you willing to make yourself to get shot just for some macho fantasy of “defending yourself”? P.S.—that makes you even more likely to get shot. Unless you walk around with the safety off, your hand on the trigger, 360º vision, and instantaneous reflexes, the attacker is always going to have the drop on you. Always.
