I went to the one near Alpine Village in Torrance/Harbor Gateway. This was my early 20’s. A lot of positive energy back then… I wonder if I went back if they would be all political and stuff…

Oh dear, the stories I can tell in SoCA and elsewhere. It’s hard because there were so few Blacks in the scene at the time, it gets close to identifying information, so I don’t talk about it much.

But some of the outfits I played with…precious, lonely hours, is probably the best way to describe it. I bet you remember Melodyland. If you could get on to the SoCA Charismatic circuit you could end up in the bona fide old school entertainment circuits. I bet your brother [he is hot] knows about it. This sort of thing still fascinates me to this day.
