Tool strategy depends on expected use over its life cycle. For a one-time project I go for Harbor Freight expendables. But my daily hammer is this:

Lost an Estwing framing hammer when helping a friend build his house. I never replaced it, but I should have. A cheap 16oz just doesn’t do the job in many cases.
