Dear Mr. Johnson:

I have admired your writing and thinking for years. I especially admire you for attacking white supremacists. I am old enough to have grown up in the segregated South as a young child. To me, an Anglo man, there is nothing- nothing- admirable about the traitors who seceded from the U.S.A. Lee, David, Stonewall Jackson, et al- traitors to a person. As for the song Dixie- it is irredeemably tainted with the Klan to be admired. The various Confederate battle flags, some of which are used as state flags (e.g., South Carolina)?- Emblems of treason. So, yes, there are Anglo Southerners who spit in the face of such drivel. Good job.
