Are these white supremacist dreams of a race war changing as the demographics do? Back when that horrible book The Turner Diaries was published, white people might credibly have won a race war.

Thankfully, even though these racist assholes exist in large numbers, if they ever did spark off a ‘race war’, what it would be would be white supremacists vs. everybody else, including a majority of whites. There is no chance of an actual ‘race war’ in the US, there is the dim possibility of a large-scale white supremacist uprising, but it’s pretty damn dim.

What is likely is that shit like this poisons peoples minds and makes them paranoid, and that can have a thousand little deleterious effects.

Already happening. The Rangel comment section at TPM was full of paranoid right-wing racists. Misinformed ones at that.
