Interesting conversation with my Mom.
Talking about the people dying at the skilled nursing facility in Hollywood.
My Mom’s point = what if the patients had a DNR? It’s clipped to their beds ya know.
Point that their cause of death should have been prevented, but if they were dealing with a cardiac arrest or something else, what was the staff’s obligation?
Just a point I didn’t think of at all, of course me Mum did.
I have a feeling that nobody signs a DNR expecting what I think was malfeasance in the parts of these supposed caretakers. That’s like saying “ok, murder me.” If I die of natural causes that’s one thing. Someone helping me along is another. By doing nothing they helped. A lot.
