After watching that video, it seems even more plausible that Trump/Bannon could have run a sting on their own presumptive party.

The Republicans aren’t being blackmailed. The base has gone full-tilt loco and taken over the party. The sane Republicans are cowards who don’t want to anger the base so they stay quiet. The crazy Republicans — who are now 85-90% of the party, both in Congress and in the rest of the world — want every bit of lunacy Trump can puke at them. They’re not being blackmailed — they’re being catered to.
