Now it’s too late. When my wife says, “when we have a house soon…” it breaks my heart. And of course rent went up $400/month starting last year. Just hope the landlord doesn’t sell soon, because we’d have few choices. I reckon part of this story is now fairly common. (Oh, and the state GOP doesn’t want to build affordable housing because it would mean accepting federal grants, which they don’t want.)

It is also a common story.

And it will become more common.

The accumulation of wealth into the hands of a tiny minority will lead to them holding vast real estate empires, as land-banking.

I fear the despair will breed throughout the US as tough times come.

And despair will lead to even worse demagogues than Trump, as some of them will actually be competent in their schemes.
