Foucault’s Pendulum was very good. But you can’t read it as just a novel.. It is almost like a biography of the characters, all leading up to the last 50 pages where the “action” really starts. Some of the chapters could be read as stand alone essays, but they all have a textual connection to each other.

And you really can see what the point is if you can make it to the end. But, I suspect a lot of people don’t make it all the way through.
