If Putin can arm rebels, why can’t we arm Ukraine?

The breakup of the USSR left the Ukraine in possession of the fifth-largest nuclear arsenal in the world.

They disarmed unilaterally against guarantees from the West to help maintain their territorial integrity.

Since we have reneged on that end of the deal, is it not only fair that we return their nukes?
