Trump will simply double-down. When it comes to the wingnuts, we’re dealing with people who are pathologically incapable of admitting to being wrong.

I wonder just how much all of this is a large part of our country being unable to admit they were wrong. For example, take slavery and racism. As a Democrat, I admit the party fucked up, but we did decide to give it up. When you ask a Republican why their party decided to run with it, all you get is the usual “We’re not racists, the Democrat party is, and blacks just need to work harder.”
