I got halfway through that thread and something broke in my brain.
Iām really starting to question the validity of most of the usual arguments for broad freedom of speech in the US (e.g., good ideas will overcome bad ideas in the marketplace of ideas, etc.).
Of course, the argument that the bad guys would inevitably corrupt the censors remains as valid as ever. But that seems to be the only argument in favor that survives contact with reality.
