Please guys, don’t say Europe. There are not such policies in the majority of European countries. It’s as if Lebanon decided to adopt some awful policy and people talked about it using the expression “Middle-Easterners”.
Ok, this is a specious comparison, since the EU has a Charter of Fundamental Rights. But you get my meaning.
Sure. So where is the condemnation for Italy and Hungary for their blatant violations of that Charter of Fundamental rights for the Romany? And Czechoslovakia?
Where is even an admission of past crimes from the countries in Europe of their treatment of the Roma?
The EU keeps making promises, keeps making studies, but nothing is done. And Hungary and Italy and many other EU countries keep persecuting the Roma.
Forming the EU has given Europe a new political identity, and with that comes new political responsibilities, as well.
