Trump ran on the idea that China was āstealingā jobs from the USA, and he would fix. In truth, his boneheaded policies are allowing China to step into the vacuum left by Trumpās policies. China has already moved the Philippines away from the States, is wooing Australia into an alliance, stitched together SE Asian countries into a set of satellite economies, and made significant investments ā including schools and the like ā in Africa. Central and South America are now ready for the taking. Xi Jinping is much smarter than Trump, and heās played hardball within his party since he left college. Trump is allowing China to become the worldās economic leader, and perhaps its political leader as well.
