Here is a short list of just some of the crap that has been thrown at Palin and Chelsea, which no one made a big deal over:

We’re long overdue for a discussion about misogyny and sexism in this country. Personally, I would like all these things to be called out for what they are when they happen— instead of any of us pretending that only one side of the political spectrum is infected with them.

I agree, but it seems the less attention drawn to it is probably the better way of dealing with it. We are a sexual society. It’s both good and bad, I suppose and this is probably a natural outpouring of that.
