Fox got popular because it was perceived that there was a liberal bias in the media, something conservative politicians always used as an excuse for poor public reception and/or lack of popularity in the 1990s. It appeals to wingnuts because they are not interested in a different perspective, only one that nurtures their existing opinions and prejudices.

That’s quite the simpleton response.
