That’s all well and good, but that understates how badly the GOP looked at the RNC. At the RNC in Cleveland, there were 18 delegates who were African American out of 2,472. That comes out to 0.7%. That’s not just spectacularly low, but so low that you actually have to try hard to make sure that you drive the number to those levels since African Americans account for roughly 12% of the population.

How was this accomplished? Simple. Engage in decades of irrational hate and anger towards minorities who sought equal rights and protections and the GOP decided that it was more important to protect the primacy of angry whites who thought that someone else exercising the same right that they had was depriving them of something in some fashion.
