Isn’t this just like when some notorious serial killer gets sentenced, there’s a segment on the TV news, where reporters ask his (it’s usually a He.) neighbours “What we was he like as a neighbour?”, they usually say “Oh, he was quiet, he kept himself to himself etc.”. The subtext of the report is usually “THEY DIDN’T KNOW THEY HAD A SERIAL KILLER AS THEIR NEIGHBOUR!!!”, but it’s more likely like in above examples: the serial killer presented a different face to his neighbours than he did to his victims.

“Quiet, kept to himself” is the mark of a serial killer. That’s why I make a lot of noise while keeping to myself.
