Evangelicals are such assholes. This is exactly what was going to happen when you basically wrote a freedom to discriminate under the guise of “religious principles” into your laws. They make these laws knowing that they will never be used on them. Maybe if Fundies were actually discriminated against like they claim, they wouldn’t like these stupid laws so much. You shouldn’t be in the adoption business if you’re going to be denying people the right to adopt.

Thing is, churches such as Catholics supported these laws as well, along with many non-fundamentalist Protestants.

If it was Catholics writing the laws, I imagine you’d see Charismatics discriminated against.

Most of them would discriminate against Mormons. All of them would discriminate against atheists (and have even before such laws were written).

It doesn’t matter which franchise of Christianity writes their beliefs into law, they will discriminate against all the others (and Jews, &c).
