Well all, must go. The vet will be here in about an hour to put down our 13 year old dog, Falstaff.
We got Falstaff to be a pal for our other big dog, Henry. Over the years, Falstaff has proved to be one of the best dogs we’ve ever had. He never complained; he was always in a wonderful mood, with his tail wagging constantly.
When he was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor, we decided to let him live as long as he wasn’t in pain. In the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen him lose his eyesight, his sense of smell, and - finally - his appetite. It’s time.
Thank heavens we have a vet who is willing to come to the house. It would have broken my heart completely to have to take Falstaff away from the place he loves, and the companionship of his friend Henry, and his family.
Hope everyone here has an absolutely wonderful weekend!
