Nixon went off the reservation…dude was operating outside of the law…makes Clinton seem like a rookie…and yet he did force NVN to the table in Paris and his China thing was truly historic…really a double edged presidency

I’m kinda amazed at how similar Nixon and LBJ were in personality. Outcasts when young, as a sense. Insecure, inflated sense of ego, paranoid at the end. They were rivals in the Senate. Both would have done anything, I mean anything, to maintain their inner sense of control. The only real difference is that LBJ didn’t get caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

I think Nixon probably had more of a strong family base than LBJ.
