You’re a reasonable person with a philosophical viewpoint seemingly aligned with what at times has been called ‘Libertarian’. To me, the current ‘libertarians’ are represented by NM’s former governor: ‘What’s a Leppo?’ Johnson.

There’s a big difference between “Libertarians” (meaning members of the Libertarian Party) and “libertarians” (those with an actual coherent political philosophy that fits the modern world).

As for those conservatives who suddenly become libertarians when the “Republican” or “conservative” become bad words - fuck them. They’re not actually libertarians because most of them don’t actually believe people should be able to organize their lives as they see fit (just ask them where they stand on gay marriage or abortion).
