completely OT, but I just had some of the Green Giant baby brussel sprouts, lightly sauced. Took a chance. Those may be the first edible brussel sprouts I’ve ever had. Soft. Just a little bit of flavor from the sauce. Not bitter sprouts. Maybe brussel sprouts are like pigs: they don’t get gamey until they hit puberty.
Brussels sprouts need to be cooked in chicken stock, and the bitter goes away.
