Mandy, I learned basic chords and simple strumming
techniques from a weekly PBS guitar course on TV, back in the 70’s. I don’t know if they still have anything like that but, it wouldn’t hurt to check it out.

They have everybody teaching every song in every chord on the Internet.
They have dudes teaching you note for note Stevie Ray Vaughn on Comcast on demand..
If I had that stuff when i was a kid Eric Clapton would be kissing my ring tonight.
