We’re not talking about Oil as per AGW right now, but rather oil looking towards eventual shortages (per the discussion with SB), and oil leading to funding of enemies of the US and Israel (per LVQ).

The second issue is irrelevant because of the essential fungibility of oil. The first, because such shortages are so far in the future that we must convert to other energy sources before the advent of any serious shortages for the sake of staving off AGW. The benefits that will accrue when shortages hit are secondary to the main dictate.
