Jimmy and Walter opened the door for Ronnie and his cabal. If the Democrats hadn’t been so incompetent in the 70s and 80s this shit might have gone differently. It isn’t enough to have reason and justice on your side. Even now many people whom you would expect to vote Democratic vote against their own interests. That’s a very paternalistic thing to say, but the fact is the Democrats have done a piss poor job of fighting the Republicans. And don’t give me any Koch Brothers shit. This stuff was happening long before SCOTUS ruled that corporations were people too.
