17 million people live in the watershed. But hey that one fighter jet was needed. // Fiscal conservatism my ass.
That one fighter is built from parts manufactured in every state, meaning dozens to hundreds of people are employed just building that one part, which is then shipped off (more jobs) to a main plant where more people are employed to put those parts together into a functioning plane. Then other workers have to install the software and make sure all the bits and bobs are communicating as intended, then the plane has to be run through testing to ensure that itโs functioning as designed. Finally, the finished bird is either flown or shipped to the intended buyer.
And every company in that supply chain is putting more money in the pockets of our Congress critters than the small companies employed in cleaning up the Chesapeake Bay. That there are hundreds of thousands to millions of people dependent on the cleanliness of the Bay means nothing to them, because they donโt donate enough to be considered important.
